Even flowers want to be warm and cosy

Roses, and other flowers, can be wrapped up warm for winter with a collar of natural materials such as leaves and cotton.

Step 1 
Collect the materials: Roses, Aspidistra, Anthurium clarinervium, Gossypium, Eucalyptus, florists wire, pins and tonkin sticks.

Step 2 
Wrap the flower heads with Aspidistra leaf and fix in place with the pins. Cut off excess leaf. Glue the cotton balls (insert) to the sticks.

Step 3 
Wire the Anthurium leaves, taking the wire to the end of the main vein. Bend the leaves inwards.

Step 4 
Make a hand tied bouquet with the wrapped roses, the cotton balls glued to the sticks and the Anthurium leaves.

The final result 
Combine the roses with brown wrapping paper for an extra warm effect. Stand the bouquet in a circle of – yes indeed - brown poplar twigs.
